Pick Some Low Hanging Fruit on United States Public Records, 1970-2009

You can look for the low hanging fruit among the United States Public Records, 1970-2009. These records came from an index of names, birth dates, addresses, phone numbers, and possible relatives who lived in the United States from 1970 and 2009.

The collections consist of records that genealogists are familiar with like the federal censuses and the Social Security death index. Some of the records in the collection are not used as much by genealogists such as:

* county tax assessments

* property liens

* driver licenses

* hunting licenses

* civil and criminal court records

* vehicle registrations

* voter registrations

Records are collected from corporations and private organizations as well:

* telephone and address listings

* credit applications

* membership directories

The pubic records can also reveal other people who are related to the person you are researching. They can often give phone numbers or birth dates. You can be lead to the discovery of cemetery, church, school, and vital records, or distant cousins you can conduct DNA research with.

I have a cousin who was killed when he was very young. He and his family had moved to Joliet, Illinois from Ohio. His name was Robert Foster, Jr.:

Robert Foster, Jr., "United States Public Records, 1970-2009." Database. FamilySearch. : 12 March 2020. A third party aggregator of publicly available information.

His birthday is given on the record. He was born 5 March 1964. My father also went by the name Robert Foster:

My father's birth was 9 June 1938. They both lived in Joliet, Illinois and in the 60432 zip code, but they lived at different houses. Their event dates go well past their death dates. I could research the records which I think may have been used to contribute this information.

I am glad to have found these two records. I have an overflow of feelings. The father of Robert Foster, Jr., my cousin, was Robert Foster Sr. I cannot find his record in the collection with his correct birthday.
