Journeys in Genealogy with Seitz Travel
My name is Cynthia Breaux Seitz. I grew up in Golden Meadow. From a young age, I have had a passion for my family history and have created an extensive family tree. I have always dreamed of going to see the places where my ancestors lived. I knew that I was not alone and that many others here in Louisiana would love to go there and see those places but like me, had no idea where to start or where those places were. So, I did research and put together some tours to take the people of Louisiana to the places of their motherlands. I was hoping you would share this information with others in your genealogy group We have several tours coming up including a heritage tour to Malaga, Spain, a heritage tour to the Canary Islands, Spain, a Cajun Heritage tour to France, An Acadian World Congress tour to Canada, and a Louisiana German Coast heritage tour to Rhineland areas of Germany and Switzerland. If you would like more details on any of our tours, please check out our website at Journeys in Genealogy with Seitz Travel. Some of our tours are in the works, so we don’t have complete details yet. But you can see what we have done so far. The dates of our Acadian Tour in France are May 15-30, 2019. This unique tour is customized for passionate Acadian descendants interested in learning about their French and Acadian heritage. The itinerary is specifically designed to visit and experience the most important Acadian heritage sites in France. We will visit the towns of Martiaze, La Rochelle, Belle Ile en Mer, and Poitou. We will visit the place in France where our ancestors said goodbye to France and sailed for Louisiana as well as the church where they knelt to pray before their long journey. We will meet some of our Acadian cousins who chose to remain in France rather than take the journey to Louisiana. We are also taking a group to the Acadian World Congress in Canada if any of you are interested in joining us for that.Guided tour of historic Acadie in NOVA SCOTIA, including:the Port Royal area -- arrival of the Acadians in early 1605, Grand Pré and the land of Évangéline, The City of Halifax, The Fortress of Louisbourg, The amazing Cabot Trail and the Acadian town of Cheticamp, Guided tour of Southern NEW BRUNSWICK including: Moncton & Dieppe, Memramcook & the Acadian Renaissance Monument, Bouchtouche & the amazing Pays de la Sagouine, Shediac & its Giant Lobster, Fort Beauséjour and Beaubassin area andThe highest tides in the World at Cape Hopewell the Rock.
