Facebook Groups: Genealogy on Steriods!

By Robin Foster

Are you a member of a Facebook group that is extremely active? Well, congratulations! Those of us who are rabid about genealogy look for Facebook groups where we can find others who are researching the same areas or topics.

We also want to find friends with the same interests, but what if all the extra e-mail and Facebook notifications are making you bug-eyed? Here are a couple of steps you can take to slow things down a bit:

2. Go to Group Activity.

3. Click on "Edit" next to Group Activity

4. Under "Edit," select "All Post," "Friends' Posts," or "Off." Selecting "Off" will turn off all the notifications for the group.

It is understandable that you may not be involved in genealogy everyday 24-7, but you can stay in the group without receiving a notification for every post.
